What went wrong and what went right?
If there is right there is wrong. We cannot see thing right if there is something wrong to it.
In my staying over ten weeks field experience in Buhi North Central School, in which my practice involve I feels like I’m very excited. But this excitement leads me to do wrong way of thinking that feels lot of pressure. I found that being perfect and doing always the right thing is to be a failure because I’ve always worried and guessing what others will head says if I commit a single mistakes. I also view that field experience/ off-campus is just a test for me to pass and graduate college rather than it is a learning experience.
It was my focus which I resulted doubt and self-depreciation through the beginning of my practice teaching. It is negative. But, I took the reality and out of it that I’m just only a student teacher. I’m on the field of experience which things will be going right or wrong. It just that, I’m a negative of cycle. If there is a negative performance there is a negative feedback. If there is negative feedback, it feels negative about teaching. If there is negative about teaching there is negative about self. That problem is just my shadow while in my off-campus.
I encounter that sometimes I left an important thing, sometimes I’m late, and sometimes I’m not ready today to teach. I’m really impatient and lack pf time management. But I realize that it is true also to my classmates. That’s why on my staying in Buhi North Central School I claim not to stress myself instead enjoy learn to my cooperating teacher, supervisor, principal, pupils and peers. Finally, it feels great to do things with no hesitation.
The power to do or act is very important of making decisions in life. In my experience, empowering myself as a conflict that characterize my journey as a student teacher, yet my field experience contradict this. Instead, my personal sense of power was undermined and helps me control the situation. It is just the key to change my interpretation of practicum as to explore and free to learn rather than the creation of negative or self-doubts. As tell us, If you can’t identify your learning, how can you help children with theirs?”
My experience as student teacher...
It was difficult at first when I personally don’t want to become a teacher. But, through the days that comes I have learned to love teaching. I realize that teachers play the most important role of shaping one’s life. That’s why I encourage and feel the desire to influence and educate children.
In my fourth year as an education student of Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, I’ve had the opportunity of undergoing a field experience as a student teacher with the cooperating school that start from November through February. This experience must prepare of being patience, understanding, and compassion. And that limited opportunity but memorable experience end at the moment.
My experience have taught me a great deal of discipline and time management which essential in the teaching profession. Balancing all the activities with my school life, family and social life provided me to become some what efficient.
During the field experience at Buhi North Central School I was responsible for planning and implementing stimulating lessons in all subject areas for grade 3( first shift) and grade 4 (Second shift). I learned many strategies and methods that help me grow as a teacher someday.
Working by your own at Buhi North Central School under the supervision of my cooperating teacher- Ma’am Irma Absalon and Ma’am Mary Joy Lacoste, lastly my supervisor Mr. Botor, was an extremely valuable experience since I was given the opportunity to devise my own set of beliefs about how to best educate pupils in real life situation as becoming a teacher whether I’m just a student teacher at that time. The practicum also allowed me to further develop my interpersonal skills throughout my educational experience in Central Bicol State University. I have been successful in establishing a good rapport with the pupils, co-student teacher, cooperating teacher and professors and peers with whom I interacted.
I believe that I give so much effort to give my very best to help myself. I hope that I give insight and determination that I can offer to the pupils to learn since I was them their student teacher. I hope that pupils will indeed embrace that learning is one of the most important development of one self.
